Zenit Editorial Series
Global History and Interdisciplinary Studies (20th–21st Centuries)
Founded in 2020, the Zenit editorial series is dedicated to the study of global history in the twentieth and twenty-first centuries, offering a platform for innovative and interdisciplinary research on the contemporary world.
In recent decades, processes of globalization have profoundly transformed societies, economies, and cultures on a global scale. These rapid and often irreversible changes have challenged traditional historiographical approaches, which have not yet fully incorporated the complexity of global interconnections. The Zenit series addresses this gap by promoting works that foreground the global dimension of historical analysis, combining comparative perspectives with methodological innovation.
The series publishes monographs and edited volumes in English and Italian, focusing on key themes in contemporary global history, including cultural transformations, environmental change, inequality, identity, and the dynamics of globalization. A central objective is to highlight the interplay between local, regional, and global processes, showing how these levels are deeply interconnected.
Particular emphasis is placed on interdisciplinary research, bringing together history with sociology, anthropology, economics, and the natural sciences. At the same time, Zenit maintains a strong commitment to clarity, readability, and interpretative effectiveness, demonstrating that rigorous academic scholarship can remain accessible to a broader audience.
