History Lab (2014-2021)

History Lab was a digital space dedicated to the circulation of research materials, bibliographies, and academic resources produced within the Department of Humanities and Cultural Heritage (Dipartimento di Lettere e Beni culturali) of the University of Campania “Luigi Vanvitelli” between 2014 and 2021.

The page brought together thematic bibliographies, research guides, teaching materials, and selected works developed by students during courses, seminars, and research activities. Conceived as an open laboratory of historical inquiry, History Lab reflected a broader idea of history as a collective and ongoing process of interpretation, discussion, and critical analysis.

The materials hosted in this section documented different fields of investigation — from contemporary history to global history, environmental history, cultural history, and the history of mass culture — while also highlighting the methodological importance of archival research, source analysis, and interdisciplinary approaches.

Particular attention was devoted to the relationship between teaching and research. Many of the student works collected here were developed through direct engagement with historical sources, public debates, media representations, and local or global case studies. In this sense, History Lab also preserved the intellectual experience of a generation of students trained to think historically within a rapidly changing global context.

The section was intended both as a repository of materials and as a testimony to the collaborative dimension of historical knowledge production.
